Kansas City police identify motorcyclist killed in Swope Parkway wreck
The motorcyclist who died Sunday in a wreck at 60th Street and Swope Parkway has been identified by Kansas City police.
George Logan, 56, of Kansas City, was traveling south on Swope Parkway on a Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck a car that had pulled out in front of him in the intersection, according to Sgt. Deb Randol of the Kansas City Police Department.
The car, a Nissan Altima, had pulled out in front of him after stopping a stop sign. Logan lost control and was ejected when his motorcycle overturned.
He died at the scene.
According to previous Star reporting, the driver of the Nissan left the scene, traveled a few blocks and then returned. Police took her into custody.
A witness to the wreck, Joe Corbin, said the driver of the Nissan might have been unable to see the oncoming traffic because cars parked at the intersection blocked the view.
