Thursday court hearings canceled after power outage at Juvenile Justice Center in KC
A power outage has forced the cancellation of court hearings Thursday at the Juvenile Justice Center in Kansas City.
All court hearings scheduled at the center at 625 East 26th St. were canceled because of an internal transformer that went out Wednesday afternoon.
The outage affected nearly 900 businesses and residences in the area, court officials said. Repairs will begin at 6 a.m. Friday and continue throughout the day.
The hearings will be rescheduled, officials said. Visitation has also been canceled.
