Authorities identify motorist killed in head-on collision in Independence
Police have identified the 27-year-old man man who was killed Sunday night when his car collided head-on with a minivan in eastern Independence as Nicholas A. Robinson.
The crash happened at Missouri 78 and Powell Road.
Investigators said Robinson was eastbound on Missouri 78 when the car he was driving crossed the center line and collided with a van. Robinson died at the scene.
The driver and occupants of the minivan sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
