Only scattered power outages remain Friday morning after overnight storms
Power was restored to most customers Friday morning after a line of thunderstorms moved through the Kansas City area Thursday night.
The most significant area of outages as of 7 a.m. Friday was in an area south of Lake Waukomis and along Interstate 29 where 94 customers remained without power, according to the Kansas City Power & Light online outage map.
About 25 customers were without power in Blue Springs. Otherwise, the KCP&L map showed only a few areas where a handful of customers were affected.
At the height of the storm Thursday night, about 4,000 people lost power.
Friday’s weather forecast calls for temperatures in the 90s with a chance of scattered storms.
