Kansas City police have released the name of a 60-year-old pedestrian who was killed Friday after being struck by a vehicle at Meyer Boulevard and Troost Avenue.

Police on Monday identified the man as Richard L. Marcrum of Kansas City.

Officers were called to the scene just after 10:30 a.m. on a report of an injury accident involving a pedestrian. Police said a southbound car struck Marcrum, who had stepped from the curb and into traffic. Marcrum was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The driver stopped immediately and later spoke to investigators.
