KCK man identified as pedestrian struck and killed on I-29 near St. Joseph

The Missouri Highway Patrol has released the name of a Kansas City, Kan., man struck and killed by a pickup truck Friday on Interstate 29 near St. Joseph.

Taano Aisek, 26, was hit by the truck after he stepped out of his vehicle onto the road following a separate, non-injury wreck, according to the patrol.

The wreck occurred about 10:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-29, about five miles south of St. Joseph.

The driver of the pickup truck stopped and was interviewed by the patrol.

Aisek was pronounced dead later that night by the Buchanan County medical examiner’s office.
