Fall-like weather on tap for Kansas City this weekend
Summer’s over — at least that’s what it will feel like this weekend.
A cold front that is sitting across far northern Missouri is expected to move south, bringing along cooler temperatures for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible through Friday as the cold air moves in. Severe weather, however, is not expected.
The storms, however, should move south of the Kansas City area by Saturday, leaving behind cool and comfortable temperatures for the rest of the weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs in Kansas City are expected to reach into the upper 70s near 80 degrees on Friday, while areas in northern Missouri will reach only the 60s.
Highs on Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach the lower to middle 70s.
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms area expected by mid-week next week, which could bring 1 to 3 inches of rain to eastern Kansas and western Missouri.
