TSA Precheck enrollment for quicker screening is in early June at KCI

A TSA Precheck enrollment event will be held in early June at the Kansas City Aviation Department offices on the Kansas City International Airport campus.

The Aviation Department is teaming up with the Transportation Security Administration and IndentoGo to enroll air travelers during a weeklong event June 5-9 at the Robinson Room at the Aviation Department offices, 601 Brasilia Ave.

The program streamlines and speeds up the security screening process. Passengers enrolled in the program do not need to remove their shoes, light jackets and belts, and they can leave their laptops and compliant liquids in carry-on bags at specially marked airport screening lanes.

At KCI, the program has been rolled out at Aero Mexico, Air Canada, Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest and Spirit airlines.

To participate in the enrollment event, applicants need to pre-enroll and schedule an appointment online at the IdentoGo website. Applicants need to select “Kansas City, MO” as the location. KCI will be listed under that location.

Applicants then will need to bring documentation proving their identity and citizenship status, such as a U.S. passport, to their appointment. For a list of required documentation, go to the TSA website.

IdentoGo will provide fingerprinting for a background check. The $85 application fee covers the first five years and can be paid by credit card, money order, company check or certified or cashier’s check. No cash or personal checks are accepted.

Walk-ins will be allowed, but priority is given to those with reservations.
