North side of Kansas City’s downtown loop is closed after tractor-trailer overturned

The westbound lanes of the north side of Kansas City’s downtown loop were closed Thursday afternoon after a tractor-trailer overturned.

The Missouri Department of Transportation advised drivers to find an alternate route.

The semi overturned along westbound Interstate 70 just past the split with Interstate 35 at the northeast corner of the downtown loop.

The crash was causing southbound I-35 traffic to back up beyond the Bond Bridge. It also made slow moving for traffic along the east side of the downtown loop.
