Kansas City schools rank high on College Choice’s top Missouri colleges
As students wrap up their spring semester of school, College Choice, an independent online publication, is out with rankings of Missouri’s top 25 colleges.
College Choice, with a mission to help students and their families choose the right school for them, reports that since Missouri has made it a “big goal,” to make sure that 60 percent of adults earn a certificate or degree by 2025, the publication has developed a list of Missouri's best colleges.
Rankings were developed by looking at student body diversity, academic quality, and return on investment or the differential between tuition costs and average early career earnings.
Washington University in St. Louis topped the list. College of the Ozarks is in second, and Saint Louis University rounds out the top three.
Rockhurst, University of Missouri, University of Missouri-Kansas City and William Jewell ranked four through seven on the list, followed by Missouri University of Science and Technology which landed eighth.
“The state of Missouri has the headquarters of some of the biggest companies in the country: Monsanto, Anheuser-Busch, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and others,” said Christian Amondson, managing editor of College Choice. “Where you go to college will affect where your networks will be, which will make it easier to find a job later on,”
