The city of Odessa has issued a boil advisory because of damage from Monday night’s storm.

The Odessa water treatment plant was directly hit by the storm and “suffered significant damage,” according to a release on the city’s website.

The city made the decision to issue the advisory in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

Residents are also encouraged to conserve water as much as possible for the duration of repair work to the treatment plant.
