One person injured in midtown staircase collapse
A staircase collapse injured one person Wednesday at a midtown building under renovation.
A third-floor staircase at the American Ice Co. building at 3111 Wyandotte St. collapsed and fell to the second floor. Part of the staircase landed on top of a person, according Kansas City Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Johnson.
That person was taken to a hospital for what Johnson described as “fairly serious injuries.”
