KC’s highs to reach near 60s this weekend, near 70s next week
It’s going to feel a bit more like spring this weekend in Kansas City — and it will only get warmer next week.
The return to normal temperatures begins Friday, with highs reaching the upper 40 to low 50s in the Kansas City area, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill.
Highs are expected to climb to near 60s on Saturday before retreating a few degrees to the mid 50s on Sunday.
The work week will get off to a good start, with highs expected in the mid-50s on Monday and the low 60s on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The warm weather will continue to build with highs near 70 on Wednesday.
In its area forecast discussion, the National Weather Service said it hasn’t inserted 70s into the forecast yet, but there’s potential out there for temperatures in that range over the later half of the work week.
The National Weather Service’s Climate 6 to 10 Day Outlook has both Kansas and Missouri above normal temperatures with below normal precipitation.
