Pedestrian struck, killed along I-70 in Blue Springs

Authorities have identified a 28-year-old man struck and killed early Wednesday along westbound Interstate 70 as David R. Ritchie of Blue Springs.

Three vehicles struck Ritchie about 6:05 a.m. as he attempted to cross the interstate near Adams Dairy Parkway. Ritchie had just gotten off work at a nearby Wal-Mart and was walking home. He died at the scene, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.

Traffic along the interstate was narrowed to one lane while troopers investigated.
