Two killed in Leavenworth County crash identified
The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the two men killed in a four-vehicle crash in Leavenworth County as Bart H. Kissinger of Oskaloosa, Kan., and Brandon L. McKinsey of Tonganoxie.
The crash occurred about 6:05 p.m. Monday along Kansas 16 west of 235th Street in rural Leavenworth County.
Kissinger, 46, was headed west on K-16 in a 2008 Ford pickup when he crossed the center line of the highway.
Kissinger sideswiped a trailer being towed by a 2008 Ford pickup headed east. Kissinger’s pickup then crashed head-on into a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban driven by McKinsey, 39.
Debris from the crash then struck the fourth vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup.
The drivers of the second and fourth vehicles and a passenger in the second vehicle were not injured.
Kissinger was not wearing a seat belt while McKinsey was wearing his, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
