The accident occurred at 12:20 a.m. as the 2007 Club Car golf cart was heading down a hill at the Riviera Resort in Camden County, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. The golf cart struck a stairway and overturned, ejecting both occupants.

The driver, Korey J. Hart, 34, was taken by emergency helicopter to University Hospital. His passenger, Dennis Good, 35, was taken to Lake Regional Hospital. Neither was wearing safety devices.
