Two people found dead inside their garage Sunday morning in Kansas City, Kan., have been identified as Gerald F. Lorfing, 88, and Mary R. Lorfing, 86.
They were discovered in their vehicle in the 6600 block of Tauromee Avenue.
Police said the deaths remain under investigation.
“They were sweet neighbors and a very loving couple,” said Marge Sprague, who lives on the same block. “It was a shock.”

Sprague and her husband would often go over to the Lorfings to play cards. Gerald Lorfing was still active in his garden.
“They were good for the community and good people, always willing to help anybody,” Sprague said. “Good church-going people.”
