Pedestrian killed on Kansas City highway

A man on foot was hit by a vehicle and killed in the northbound lanes of U.S. 71 at 55th Street early Saturday morning.

Police were originally called around 12:30 a.m. on a report of a body lying in the street. Police have not released the man’s identity.
