Laser show will close Main Street to traffic near Union Station

Main Street from Pershing Road to 20th Street will be closed to traffic Saturday evening and again Dec. 10 for a laser show produced by Quixotic.

The show, Quixotic’s first stand-alone laser event, is part of the Downtown Dazzle holiday festivities. It will cover a 50,000-square-foot area spanning Pershing Road and Main Street near Union Station. The lighting production will activate between two and three times each hour and last about five minutes between 6 and 10 p.m.

So Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Pershing to 20th Street from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and during that same time frame on Dec. 10

However, the Kansas City streetcar and city buses will continue regular operations on Main Street near Union Station during that time.
