A man injured after an explosion at an apartment building in Lee’s Summit has died.

The man was rushed to the hospital after an explosion about 11:30 a.m. Monday at a Lee’s Summit apartment building in the 2400 block of Southeast Missouri 291.

Jim Eden, assistant fire chief in Lee’s Summit, said the man died Wednesday. His name was not released.

The Missouri state fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire, Eden said.
