Kansas City’s Metro North Mall has been dubbed ‘the creepiest’

It’s probably one of the creepiest-looking malls in the country, and it’s right here in Kansas City: The abandoned Metro North Mall is just weeks away from being demolished.

Photographer Seph Lawless, who has been recognized for this type of “dead mall” imagery before, recently captured footage from inside the mall — and it’s kind of terrifying. According to The Daily Mail, Lawless even commented that it was “by far the creepiest mall I’ve been in.”

The mall was built in 1976. Two years back, signs of Metro North Mall’s fall from splendor could be seen.

This photo of two mall walkers was taken in 2014 by Kansas City Star photographer Keith Myers. At that time, there were only a few businesses, such as Macy’s, still occupying space.
