Munday on Monday: TV remote control

The point-and-click of this device —

You had to press it once or twice.

But now it’s eighteen, nineteen clicks

Before it works its simple tricks.

The batteries I’ve switched, of course;

Yet still I press with growing force

To merely change the channel — shoot!

Don’t even try to work the “mute.”

To upper left or lower right

In vain I seek the “line of sight.”

The disadvantage, bane or quirk:

It doesn’t yet remotely work!
