Another child shooting victim in Kansas City on Sunday
A 1-year-old girl was shot Sunday in Kansas City and was in critical condition at a hospital, police said.
The girl’s father brought the child to the hospital. He had also been shot and was in stable condition. Police learned of the shootings shortly before 8 p.m.
No other details were immediately available.
The shooting follows the death of a 1-year-old Kansas City, Kan., boy who was shot in an apparent accident on Friday. Antonio Rucker Jr. was shot in his mother’s vehicle in the parking lot of a pizza restaurant in the 7500 block of State Avenue. Police announced Saturday that he had died.
The boy was the second child to be shot and killed in as many weeks in the Kansas City area. Three-year-old Jermone Green was shot and killed Oct. 27 in a residence in the 1800 block of Topping Avenue in Kansas City. He was accidentally shot by his 5-year-old brother, police said.
