Bridge construction requires overnight closure of I-435 in Overland Park
Drivers along Interstate 435’s southern loop should plan for delays caused by the closure of the highway on Friday and Saturday nights.
The closures will allow construction crews to set bridge girders in place for the Roe Avenue bridge over the interstate.
In advance of the overnight closures, the left lane of eastbound I-435 and the right lane of westbound I-435 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
On Friday, lane closures will begin at 8 p.m., with the two left lanes of eastbound I-435 closing at Roe. One lane of the ramp from northbound and southbound Metcalf Avenue to eastbound I-435 also will close.
At 9 p.m., the left three lanes of eastbound I-435 at Roe will close. The ramp from Nall Avenue to I-435 also will close.
Eastbound I-435 before Nall Avenue will completely close at 10 p.m.
Traffic will detour at Nall and head south to College Boulevard, east to Roe and north to the ramp to eastbound I-435.
The highway is expected to reopen by 8 a.m. Saturday.
