Police say student was approached by stranger in Overland Park

Overland Park police say a female student was approached by a man Wednesday morning on her way to school.

Police said the incident occurred about 8 a.m. Wednesday near 133rd Street and Switzer Road.

The student told police that the man, driving a dark red, older four-door sedan, asked her if she needed a ride.

The girl said no, and reported that the man told her she was beautiful, before he drove away.

Overland Park police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them at 913-895-6300 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
