Fund set up to aid family of 3-year-old KC boy killed in shooting
The family of a 3-year-old boy who was shot and killed Thursday in Kansas City has set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses.
Jermone L. Green was fatally shot inside a residence in the 1800 block of Topping Avenue. Kansas City police have not said how the boy was shot. The posting said the shooting was “a tragic accident.”
The page, which was created Saturday, has a picture of the smiling boy in a Christmas shirt.
“Words can't express how broken our hearts are. If you can find it in your heart to help our grieving family as we prepare to lay our baby to rest that would be very much so appreciated. Thank you for your donations and Thank you for your prayers. Sincerely, The Russell/Green family.”
In the wake of the shooting, police have reminded gun owners that the department offers free gun locks, available at the East Patrol station at 2640 Prospect Ave.
