Three lawyers have been named as finalists for a judicial opening in Johnson County District Court.
After interviewing eight applicants, the Johnson County judicial nominating commission chose Krishnan “Chris” Jayaram of Overland Park, and Rhonda Mason and Vanessa Riebli, both of Olathe, as the three finalists.
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will choose one of the three to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of District Judge Gerald Elliott. The governor has 60 days to make his selection.
Jayaram is an attorney with the law firm of Horn Aylward & Bandy.
