Doctors at the University of Kansas Health System said they were anxious about the amount of activity they observed at places around Kansas City such as the Country Club Plaza.
“I had a little bit of concern this weekend,” said Dana Hawkinson, medical director of infection prevention and control at the health system. “I just hope everybody is continuing to maintain good individual health guidance as far as physically distancing, wearing a mask, doing adequate and frequent hand hygiene, and not touching their face because we really want to keep everybody healthy. If we are starting to kickoff this economy and restart it, we want to be able to continue that.”
On Monday, restrictions across most of Kansas were eased as salons and gyms were allowed to reopen.
Experts at the health system said the number of cases in early June will be key because they will take into account reopening efforts.
