Johnson and Wyandotte counties report 46 new coronavirus cases, three more deaths

Forty-six new cases of the coronavirus and three more deaths were reported Friday morning in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.

Johnson County has 415 positive COVID-19 cases compared to 402 on Thursday morning. Eight new cases had been reported the day before.

Wyandotte County has 518 cases compared to 485 on Thursday. Four new cases were reported the day before.

Two of the deaths were in Johnson County, raising its total to 38.

Wyandotte County now has 48 deaths.

The two counties have been the hardest hit in Kansas, which has confirmed 2,482 cases throughout the state.

The most severe outbreak has been at Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation in Kansas City, Kansas. As of Wednesday evening, 119 cases of the coronavirus were connected to the facility and 27 have died.

The U.S. has recorded more than 870,000 coronavirus cases, according to Johns Hopkins University.
