Missouri counts 903 coronavirus cases in Sunday update, with 12 deaths
After a week that saw large jumps in the number of new coronavirus cases in Missouri, the state reported Sunday that more than 900 people have tested positive for the virus.
At the beginning of the week, the number of coronavirus disease cases had just surpassed 100. A week later, the number had ballooned to 903 cases.
The number of people who have died from the disease increased to 12, according new statistics. That’s up from three deaths by this time last week.
There have been three deaths reported in Greene County, two each in St. Charles and St. Louis counties and one each in Boone, Camden, Henry and Jackson counties and the city of St. Louis.
The areas hit hardest by the virus include St. Louis County, which has 336 coronavirus cases, Kansas City with 102 cases, and St. Louis, 97 cases. More cases are expected to be found as more people are tested for the virus.
The numbers are expected to be updated again around 2 p.m. Monday.
