Eric Stonestreet donating 200,000 meals to KC’s Harvesters during coronavirus outbreak

Actor and Kansas City, Kansas, native Eric Stonestreet has pledged to donate 200,000 meals to Harvesters Community Food Network in Kansas City to help those in need during the coronavirus outbreak.

Stonestreet made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday night.

The food bank, Stonestreet said, is an essential service, and it needs the community’s support to help provide resources for families, children and seniors. He encouraged donations to the organization, which serves a 26-county area of northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas, according to its website. It says it provides food and household items to more than 760 nonprofits, including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters and children’s homes.

“Lindsay and I love our hometown and want to help do what we can. I’m only posting this to maybe motivate you to do what you can, when you can, if you can, to help vulnerable families in our community during this time,” Stonestreet said in the tweet Wednesday night.

Less than an hour later, Harvesters took to Twitter to reply, thanking the actor for his support.
