Google Fiber TV announced Wednesday it is updating its set-top boxes to more easily play music and video through apps on customers’ phones and tablets.

Google Cast, the company said, will work like Chromecast, popular gadgets that stream the content of mobile devices onto a TV screen.

The company said it will be rolling out the technology over the coming weeks. To work, a device loaded with the app needs to be connected to a Google Fiber customer’s Wi-Fi network. When users click on the casting icon within the app, the content will stream through their television.
