Bayer Animal Health in Shawnee names new president

Joyce Lee on Monday was named president of Bayer’s North American Animal Health business, which has 550 employees at its headquarters in Shawnee.

Lee, a veteran manager in the life sciences industry, will officially start on April 1, according to the announcement. She succeeds Ian Spinks, who is retiring from Bayer later this year.

Bayer Animal Health employs 800 in North America at its facilities in Shawnee and in Ontario, Canada.

The operation here is part of the Bayer Group international enterprise that focuses on products and services in health care and agriculture.

Lee, since 2013, has been executive vice president and area president of Canada and Latin America for New Jersey-based Zoetis. She has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and commercial operations in emerging and developed markets in the life science industry, including positions at Pharmacia and Pfizer, according to the announcement.
