Kansas City-based FarmLink splits into two independent agribusiness companies
Kansas City-based FarmLink is splitting up its technology-based agribusiness operations into two independent companies — one focused on data analytics, the other on equipment sharing.
The data analytics business will retain the FarmLink name, while the equipment sharing unit will be called MachineryLink Solutions.
FarmLink said in the announcement that both companies are “well positioned to quickly capitalize on market share growth within the $20 billion ag tech” industry.
Ron LeMay remains chairman and chief executive of both companies.
FarmLink, among other things, relies on data analytics to help crop experts and agronomists pinpoint crop productivity improvements across the nation.
MachineryLink, which started as a leasing company about 15 years ago, now operates what it says is the agribusiness industry’s first online equipment sharing operation.
