Time Warner says TWC Maxx upgrade complete, giving KC faster Internet, all-digital TV

AP

TWC Maxx, Time Warner Cable’s Kansas City area project to provide faster Internet service and improved cable TV quality and access, is complete, the company announced Monday. Time Warner Cable provides cable service to more people in the area than any other company, and it said the $37 million upgrade means all its customers now have the improved services.

The company said those include, at no increase in monthly charges, improvements in Internet speed (from 15 megabits per second to 50 megabits, 50 megabits to 200, and 100 megabits to 300, depending on service plan) and access to an all-digital TV lineup, DVR recording of six programs at a time, and double the storage of high-definition programming.
