Sprint says its Blue Springs service is restored after disruption at one tower

Sprint wireless service was disrupted in part of Blue Springs late Monday and into Tuesday but has been restored.

A city official said a Sprint representative notified the city’s 911 dispatch center about the disruption and originally estimated repairs might take until Thursday.

“Our city phones worked fine, and our 911 dispatch receiving phone calls was never a problem,” said Kim Nakahodo, Blue Springs’ communications manager.

A Sprint spokeswoman said the impact was limited to one tower.

“Some Sprint customers within close proximity of the tower may experience intermittent service issues this afternoon as we work to optimize the service,” Melinda Tiemeyer said in an email Tuesday.
