An Australian company is relocating its headquarter to the Bioscience & Technology Business Center in Lawrence.

Lawrence has landed the global headquarters of an animal health company moving from Australia.

Integrated Animal Health had said in February that it would operate its North American operations in the KC Animal Health Corridor, which stretches from Manhattan, Kan., to Columbia.

On Monday, the company announced Lawrence as the site and added that its global headquarters likewise would move to the Bioscience & Technology Business Center at the University of Kansas.

Blake Hawley, chief executive for the Americas, said manufacturing would remain in Australia but marketing, sales, strategic planning and traditional headquarters functions of accounting, human resources and legal work would move to Lawrence.

His task is building that team, which could grow to 51 in several years.

Integrated Animal Health develops technology platforms to deliver animal health products, such as oral tick and fly repellents for livestock and pets, and mastitis mitigation products for dairy cattle. Many of its products are from compounds that have been demonstrated as safe for humans.
