Two Kansas City technology companies join forces
Two Kansas City-based technology companies involved in mobile applications have combined.
Data Systems International Inc., a mobile applications company, acquired RareWire LLC for an undisclosed price.
RareWire is a software company that specializes in enhancing user experiences with mobile apps. RareWire, which listed an office at 1627 Main St., has worked with Black & Veatch, Boulevard Brewery, Forever 21 and other companies worldwide.
“As a tech entrepreneur in Kansas City, this is a dream scenario for us,” Kirk Hasenzahl, president of RareWire, said in the announcement.
DSI, which was formed more than 30 years ago, is headquartered at 1201 Walnut St. It also has offices in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The privately held company has 230 employees, including 180 here. DSI said it expects to have about 270 employees by the end of 2015.
Matt McGraw, DSI’s president and chief executive, said the acquisition “strengthens our ability to deliver superior consumer-quality mobile experiences that are highly competitive with any available in the market.”
