Native Kansan, University of Kansas graduate and former FDIC Chair Sheila Bair will be on hand Thursday for a ribbon cutting at the Leawood office of business startup Blooom.

“She is a big supporter of Blooom and we are very fortunate to have her in our corner,” the startup business said in an announcement.

Blooom’s online service helps small savers handle 401(k) accounts. The company recently was named One in a Million, winning an entrepreneurial competition by that name at the Kauffman Foundation.

The Leawood location is at 5325 W. 115th Place in Park Place. The event starts at 4 p. m.
