Coca-Cola pulls new Diet Coke Slurpee from 7-Eleven
Diet Coke Frost, reportedly the first frozen product in the brand’s 31-year history, has been yanked from 7-Eleven stores after just one month, according to Advertising Age.
The trade publication said a significant number of convenience stores have had quality issues related to the freezing consistency of the product. Coca-Cola and 7-Eleven said in a joint statement that there are no health or safety issues with Diet Coke Frost.
“In keeping with both companies’ quality standards, 7-Eleven has decided to remove the product,” the statement said. It was not clear if or when the product will return to the market.
The product became available nationwide in 7-Eleven stores in late February, and it has been promoted heavily, Advertising Age said.
