Clothing store that closed on KC’s Country Club Plaza will return
Just six months after it closed on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza, Minnesota-based clothing retailer Evereve is reopening.
This time, it’ll be at 445 Nichols Road. (Before it was at 225 W. 47th St.)
When the women’s clothing brand returns in early 2027, sister company Jaxen Grey will open in the space next door at 437 Nichols Road.
Evereve had a store on the Plaza for 10 years before closing in late December. It sells upscale clothing from brands like Favorite Daughter and Rails. At the time Evereve closed in December, the store’s visual merchandiser Paige Habiger said the company was told by Plaza ownership that their lease would not be renewed.
Jaxen Grey, meanwhile, offers apparel, footwear and accessories from Theory, Barbour and other brands.
Nothing is currently open in Evereve’s previous digs. Asked whether something else is set to move in, the Plaza’s spokesperson did not say.
Two years ago, Dallas-based HP Village Partners purchased the Plaza for $175 million. The owners later changed the company name to Gillon Property Group.
Recently, the Plaza’s public relations team released its Plaza Promise campaign, a “multi-year commitment” to the city with six components. Separately, the shopping district is seeking several millions of dollars in tax incentives to make improvements to the aging district.
