Japanese department store to open in former Overland Park grocery store
A New York-based department store selling Japanese products is coming soon to the Overland Park area.
Teso Life will be opening in what was Pan Asia Market at 11940 Metcalf Ave. in the third quarter this year, according to Teso Life’s website.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Queens, the department store partners with several well-known Japanese suppliers and developers and sells products for health, beauty, food, kitchenware, office products, houseware, bathroom fixtures, toys, car accessories and pet supplies, according to the website.
Its social media profiles posts about health and beauty products sold there, as well as recommendations. There are over 60 locations across the United States.
Pan Asia, an international supermarket, moved and opened across the street at 12035 Metcalf Ave. last summer because it was more spacious. It offers an in-house restaurant, bubble tea stand and Korean skin care shop.
This will be the first Teso Life opened in the Kansas City area.
