Tiki Taco — a Kansas City taco chain that’s been expanding across the metro — is opening a new spot in Overland Park.

The chain has just confirmed its new location in the Aspiria Campus at 11586 Nall Ave. Including locations that are forthcoming, this will be the company’s 10th restaurant.

It aims to open in October.

As previously reported by The Star, Tiki Taco is also gearing up to open locations in Liberty at 9711 Ash Ave., in the Crossroads at 412 E. 18th St., in the Metro North shopping center at 8480 N. Jefferson St., and in Lawrence at 602 W. Ninth St.

Business has been booming for the little taco shop that got its start at 1710 W. 39th St. in 2017.

Brothers Lyndon and Lindsey Wade bought the original location with their mother, Judy Rush, in 2020. The family then opened 5400 Troost Ave. in 2022 and 7514 W. 80th St. in downtown Overland Park in 2024.

Last year, gaining the help of CEO Eric Knott, the business opened spots in Shawnee at 11200 Johnson Drive and in Olathe at 14947 W. 119th St. It also now has a presence in Hy-Vee Arena and inside the Kansas Health Systems.

Tiki Taco offers a selection of cocktails, tacos and burritos. Some menu items include the “dripping” birria taco, grilled shrimp taco, Korean beef taco, Thai chili pork burrito, Mai Tai, frozen margarita and more.

Aspiria, formerly the headquarters for Sprint, is home to several different restaurants and other concepts. Florida-based go-karting company Andretti Karting recently opened there.
