This new elevated sports bar is set to open in Kansas City’s riverfront

A new upscale sports bar is coming to Kansas City’s riverfront development, Current Landing, this spring.

Revel, created by Shawn Larson and Danney Elmore, hopes to be a social destination with a polished immersive and energetic feel while anchoring the riverfront, according to a news release from CPKC Stadium .

Revel at Current Landing is about balance,” Elmore, said in the release. “We wanted to create a space that feels elevated and design-forward, but still incredibly comfortable and social.”

This will be Elmore’s fourth restaurant concept in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.

Revel will be located in the outdoor plaza just opposite to the entry to CPKC Stadium, the home of the KC Current. It will feature wood, leather finishes, moody tones and brushed metal accents. At the center of the space will be a central bar wrapped in wood paneling and leather accents, topped with dark stone, according to the release.

“The addition of Revel at Current Landing strengthens the district’s identity as a destination,” said Josh Goldman, managing director at Palmer Square Real Estate, in the release. “It’s a social anchor—bringing together sophisticated hospitality, the energy of sport, and the rhythm of the riverfront into one cohesive experience.”

The bar plans to be a focal point for marquee matchups, World Cup watch parties, featuring live music and sports-related events like English Premier League mornings, Formula 1 brunches and other global sporting events.

Current Landing, a new entertainment district by the waterfront, is expected to complete its first phases of construction ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Michelin-starred chef Nicholas Sefanelli is set to open an Italian restaurant at the riverfront, but not before the World Cup.
