KC seafood restaurant closing location. ‘Beyond grateful for every guest’
Mexican seafood restaurant Jarocho has announced the closure of one of its locations.
Jarocho South, 13145 State Line Road, will close at the end of February.
The Kansas City restaurant posted a statement on its social media Wednesday, explaining that owners had decided not to renew the lease at that spot.
“We are beyond grateful for every guest who has supported us over the years,” the statement reads. “Come enjoy your favorites with us these final months.”
Ownership could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
Employees told The Star its Kansas City, Kansas, spot at 719 Kansas Ave. will remain open.
Hailing from Veracruz, chef Carlos Falcon first opened Jarocho’s KCK spot in 2014. With the restaurant growing in popularity, Falcon expanded the concept three years later.
Falcon also owns Sayachi Sushi at 6322 Brookside Plaza, which opened in 2018.
Jarocho sells shrimp ceviche, oysters, grilled octopus and other dishes.
