Popular Kansas City restaurant Gram & Dun to open second location
A beloved upscale Kansas City restaurant is getting a second area location.
The Country Club Plaza’s Gram & Dun will open a spot in the Argosy Casino & Hotel in the Northland January 2026, according to a release from Argosy.
The new restaurant inside the casino, 777 NW Argosy Casino Parkway in Riverside, will offer 250 seats for dining, private dining rooms and an outdoor patio.
The contemporary American restaurant boasts of locally sourced ingredients, cocktails and a sommelier-crafted wine list.
“We’re excited to collaborate with W. VinZant Restaurants to bring Gram & Dun Argosy to life,” Lance George, vice president and general manager of Argosy, said in a release. “Whether guests are joining us for breakfast or lunch or celebrating a night out at Argosy Casino & Hotel, we’re excited to offer a unique dining experience that’s satisfying, and memorable from the moment you arrive.”
The restaurant will move into the former Journey Steakhouse, which held a space there for 20 years.
Gram & Dun first opened in late 2011 at 600 Ward Parkway under Bread & Butter Concepts.
After Bread & Butter filed for bankruptcy, W. VinZant Restaurants took the restaurant over in 2020.
W. VinZant, run by Whitney VinZant, has been in the news for several restaurant acquisitions lately. Most recently, it took over Cafe Trio near the Plaza at 4558 Main St.
It owns more than a dozen area concepts, like Va Bene, Waldo Pizza and Taco Republic.
The group also plans to transform the former Houlihan’s at 2820 W. 53rd St. in Fairway into a contemporary American restaurant. Argosy opened its KC area riverboat casino in 1994. Two years later, it unveiled a land-based pavilion at its current location. In 2003, it completed a multi-million dollar renovation to transform the space into a Mediterranean-style village with a 62,000 square foot gaming floor (nearly double its previous size).
Argosy’s other dining options listed on its website include Hops House, Red Lotus Asian Kitchen, Parisi Cafe and Slice Pizzeria.
