Toastique — a national chain serving juice, coffee and “gourmet toast” — is looking to open its first spot in Kansas City.

The company has applied to open a spot in Overland Park’s Corbin Park shopping center at 6445 W. 135th St.

Realtor Steve Gasperi, who represents the group, told The Star that Toastique is looking for more spots in the area, and he hopes it will be “the first of many.”

The Washington, D.C.-based brand has a location in Wichita, which opened in September. It was Toastique’s first spot in Kansas.

The restaurant serves a variety of cold-pressed juices, real fruit and veggie smoothies, acai bowls, and espresso drinks.

Its gourmet toast options include the Avocado Smash (avocado, watermelon radish, marinated tomatoes, chili oil and microgreens on whole grain toast) and 3 Cheese Italian (prosciutto, melted Swiss and fontina, roasted garlic onion jam, and dressed arugula on jalapeño cheddar toast).

Toastique also offers iced collagen lattes — cold drinks centered around a protein that supports the body’s skin, muscles, bones and connective tissue.

Collagen latte options include the turmeric latte (collagen, turmeric chai spice, maple syrup, ginger and almond milk) and matcha latte (collagen, matcha, almond milk and the option of honey or agave).

Gasperi said the cafes are popular spots in high traffic areas of D.C., and the local franchise operators had a chance to visit a successful cafe in Austin, Texas.

“They’re killing it out there,” he said.

The brand was founded in 2018 by Brianna Keefe, a former college athlete whose love for juicing, smoothies and health food turned into a dream of opening a health cafe.

The company has more than 35 locations in Washington, California, Colorado, Texas and beyond, with several more on the way.
