The doors have been shut at Lee’s Summit’s On the Border location — 1800 NW Chipman Road — since last March.

In at least a month, maybe more, they’ll swing open again. This time, El Toro Loco will serve its Mexican dishes in the space.

General manager Eugenio Yanez said they’re unsure of an exact opening date just yet.

El Toro Loco first opened in the Legends Outlets Kansas City at 1706 Village West Parkway. It has since opened another in Lenexa at 10088 Woodland Road.

It serves margaritas, street tacos, enchiladas, burritos, quesadillas and more.

“Everything is made from scratch,” Yanez said.

On the Border closed three restaurants last year. Only one is still open in the metro: 11855 W. 95th St. in Overland Park.
