Spin! Pizza is closing its South Plaza location at 4950 Main St.

The Kansas City-based chain announced to customers Tuesday afternoon via email that it would close at the end of the day.

“It’s been a pleasure serving you for 15 years,” the email reads. “We love making stone-fired pizzas at our Main Street location. However, our current lease is up and we will not be renewing. Spin! hopes to be part of the Plaza in the future.”

The restaurant encouraged customers to visit its newly remodeled location in Prairie Village at 8224 Mission Road.

Sara Carhart, chief operating officer for the company, told The Star that the South Plaza location would have required some appliance updates, and the team determined it made more sense to focus on other locations.

Spin! has more than a dozen locations in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Texas. Its other spots include 6100 NW 63rd Terrace, 2450 Grand Blvd. in Crown Center and 14230 W. 119th St. in Olathe.
