Pharmacy chain Walgreens will close its store at 1100 E. 63rd St. in Kansas City later this month.

Its last day will be Monday, Sept. 30, according to a sign posted outside the entrance. Prescriptions will be transferred and available at all other Walgreens. The closest is in Waldo at 7500 Wornall Road.

Walgreens announced earlier this year that it planned to close about a quarter of its 8,600 U.S. stores by 2027.

The chain has approximately 90 stores in the Kansas City metro.
